MET GALA: Fashion Review

The Met Gala is one of the most anticipated Fashion events of the year. It is also known as The Oscars of Fashion and it is where only the elite celebrities & designers are invited as guests. This year's theme was CHINA: Through the Looking Glass each guest are expected to dress accordingly to the theme. The fashion editor and chief Anna Wintour is thee reason this event exists, this couture costume event is held annually. There were only 350 people on the list to enter, the tickets are $25,000 per person and $250,000 a table. Everyone is expected to walk the red carpet and walk up those famous  long flights of "red stairs" to even enter the event. This carpet is known as the hardest red carpets to walk on. This event was also the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Arts.

Couture Favorites:
Rihanna: wearing designer-Guo Pei. This look is Haute Couture and very suitable for this particular event. She looked stunning in this yellow fur trimmed coat. From her hair to her beautiful head piece, she looked very glamourous and elegant for the night. Her train was so long she had four men to position it for the cameras as she walked up the red stairs. She was one of the few people to choose a Chinese designer.

Kerry Washington: wearing- Prada pink satin gown is a mullet cut dress in the front and has a very nice cut out in the back. This color looks beautiful on the red carpet, it was one of the most unique colors to hit the carpet last night. The bow detailing is exquisite and different it gives this dress a soft look. I love this dress, Kerry looks beautiful.

Selena Gomez: in Vera Wang-this all white gown is beautiful with the white floral head piece to match. I like the cut out detailing at the top of the dress. This color looked refereshing on the carpet.

Beyonce: wearing custom Givenchy-this sheer and very detailed beaded gown was exactly what the theme said "Through the looking glass". This fitted silhouette was very sexy and extremely risky for the carpet. Not my favorite look for the evening however, it was a well-tailored gown, I loved her high fashion side ponytail it really complimented this look and her body looks amazing! Also pictured here is her husband Jay Z and her Fashion Stylist Ty Hunter
Zendaya: wearing Fausto Puglisi. Zendaya is one of the youngest fashionistas to enter the Met this year. The 18 year old looked very beautiful in this fun bold print red skirt and train in the back with a black low plunging top. I loved her hair accessory-she really stuck to the theme and just had fun with it.
Emma Roberts wearing: Ralph Lauren. I love this green silhouette another unique pop of color Ive seen on the red carpet. This silk dress looked beautiful with the little black accesories to compliment. Simple look but beautiful.

Karen Elson: wearing Dolce & Gabbana. The jeweled and gold detailed corset with matching head piece with the long flowy tulle bottom makes her look like royalty. I love this look!

Zoe Kravitz wearing: Alexander Wang-this long mesh gown gives a chain effect with the black sequin detailing around the straps of the dress. She is gorgeous!

Kim Kardashian-West in Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli-this sheer and white detailed silhouette looked beautiful with the long feathered train.

Sienna Miller in Thakon-this red sequin long sleeved jacket with matching pants is really themed based but with a modern day twist. I love the low plunge and the black accessories.

Lady Gaga in Balenciaga. What I love about this piece is she really stuck with the Chinese theme. I love the over sized detailing of the coat and it's design & print. The all black was a statement piece along with the hair accessory.

• • • Fashion Conclusion
There were so many other looks that I really appreciated this year at the Met Gala that didn't quite make my top list. After looking through over 100 different looks of the night-My best look of the evening will have to be Rihanna-she looked stunning this over the top haute couture coat was perfect for this event. My least favorite of the night was Beyoncé it wasn't flattering to me at all, it wasn't the elegant look I'm use to seeing her in. She still looked beautiful but I think this dress would have been a better fit for someone else.+++ (I must add even tho this wasn't my favorite look from Beyonce-she served the people with that side pony and those poses. She made it work! I have to give her credit for that.)
