Marc Jacobs NYFW 2018

New York Fashion Week is an event that I have always dreamed of attending. It is the most exciting week in the fashion world. Tons of designers spend countless hours preparing their unique designs/collections. Each season is ahead of the upcoming season. Below is the Fall collection curated by Marc Jacobs.

In this collection Marc Jacobs was inspired by 1980s haute couture — names like Montana, Mugler, Ungaro, and Saint Laurent. The highlight of this era were: the bold shoulders, the big bow belts, the baggy pleated trousers, the heavy knit fabrics and my favorite the brim hats.

Jacobs added his modernized spin to the collection by over sizing EVERYTHING! The oversized coats are so cool to me I love the bold colors for Fall including purple, reds, and yellow. Jacobs idea to oversize and use heavy fabric stood out from the other designers. His sensibility successfully created a collection of trends that is different from anything else currently dominating the market.

This collection is READY-TO-WEAR. I love haute couture it is my favorite fashion to study. You can totally take inspiration from his collection and add a spin to your own wardrobe. The layering idea is a great choice for not only fall but spring trends as well.
