Met Gala 2018

The Met Gala is one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year. Themed around religion the stars all aligned in their Sunday best couture looks. The Met Gala/Ball isn’t your ordinary ball the fashion is very dramatic and of high quality. The designs usually take weeks or even months to create. It is wearable art. Some of the designs are displayed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Adding a twist to my best dressed list this year. In menswear Chadwick Boseman wearing Versace. I feel he nailed this look from head to toe.

Breakdown of the looks:

Solange is always known for being so creative with her fashion choice every year. She is always thinking ahead or avant-garde. This year is no different. The element that stood out the most that everyone is talking about is her durag. Still celebrating being unapologetically black and it’s so cool. 

Sza made an appearance at her very first Met Gala. She had a fashion fairy moment in her pink Versace dress that turned heads.

Rihanna went with a beaded star studded pope look from head to toe that was sure to give her one of the best dressed themed looks of the night. Expectations are always high for Rihanna to give us a look to remember and she did! She has so much swagger it’s just unfair.

Zendaya has become one of my favorite fashionistas to watch. She wore a metallic dress resembling Joan of Arc giving the theme a nice flair along with her luxurious red hair. 

Janelle Monáe added a high fashion flair to her black and white trend. I love the brim hat trimmed in gold with the red floral background is so beautiful.
